"Otanjoubi omedeto," he said with a slight smile as he held the gift out to the older boy.

He grinned at the younger boy and tore into it, face just as excited as if he was six years old all over again. The wrapping paper, discarded, toppled to the floor and lay there - let the house elves tidy up, after all.

With a sigh, Amaury bent over and rolled up the discared wrapping paper, tossing it neatly into a nearby bin.
"One year older and yet still not more responsible," he scolded lightly, with a gentle twinkle in his eye.

He couldn't help himself - he dragged Amaury into a quick hug, then pulled away and beamed at him, admiring the jewellery on his skin. One could say he perhaps liked it, just a very little bit.

Oh, she liked Remy well enough, but she wasn't really in a tremendously "party" sort of mood and her time could probably be better served working on some homework or something like that.
She did like Remy, though, and his birthday couldn't just go uncelebrated, so she was there. She made a beeline for the booze as soon as she arrived and already had a half-finished drink in hand when she spotted the birthday boy himself.
"Happy Birthday, Remy." She managed a smile, giving him a quick, chaste kiss on the cheek and holding out the wrapped gift, which was a miniature replica of the quidditch pitch, charmed to simulate an actual game. Purchased, not made, of course, because Dari could have never created such a thing on her own. Sometimes it was good to have money.

He tugged her into a sidelong hug, grinning maniacally at his present. "Thanks!"

"Oh, I'm glad you like it," she told him, grinning and tilting her head slightly. "Are you having a good birthday?" she added a second later. "It's a brilliant party."
Reply
"All the better for you being here, sweetheart." He was on full flow now, charm wafting from him like fresh perfume. "I told the others, all it needed was a pretty face to really get off the ground, and here you are." Remy grinned at her. "Perfect."

She waited for her brother to be free, so that she could let him know that she was in attendance. There was no need for her to present him with a gift, she had already done in the morning, knowing that Remy would be a decidedly busy host that evening.
Reply
"Surprise surprise...but I guess not since he's your brother and all. Just never thought you the type to be rebellious and break rules."
Reply
"Just because you never notice when I break rules, it doesn't mean that it never happens," Claire responded meekly. She broke the curfew, she snuck out to meet friends, she'd even done those silly 'take ten steps into the forbidden forest on a full moon' dares. One didn't have to go sneaking out strictly with boys, or make out in the stacks, to be considered as having broken rules, did they? "I'm only here for a little while," Addie's comment wasn't going to change that, it just enforced that Claire really did have to get out of here quickly before someone else said the same thing.

This time Addie did laugh a bit, and looked the girl up and down. "Chip off the Cowan block?" She shook her head and smiled. She didn't hate Claire it was just she had a rather bland opinion of her; at least she wasn't grouped with crazy Beccy.

And then he just stood there looking lame.

She snuck up behind the older boy and poked his side, hoping to get a jump out of him. "Hey there stranger" She giggled out.

In fact, what was he doing here? Maddox thought about this for awhile. It wasn't too late, and he figured that he should probably slip out sooner rather than later. Rule-breaking wasn't really one of his hobbies.
Reply
"Didn't take you for a rule breaker. It's.. a pleasant surprise?" She pushed him playfully. "So what brings you here? Remy? Alcohol? Me?" This time a wink followed her cheshire grin.

Currently, however, she had infinitely more important matters to attend to.
“Who let the Satan’s little helpers next to the appetizers?” Laden down with boxes, she didn’t have a hand available to make a fist. Violence being unavailable, she resorted to volume. “Hey, elfsnot, step away from the creampuffs!!”
It wasn’t that Jelly hated House Elves. (That’d be giving the little misfits too much credit.) It was just that she…felt a lot better when they weren’t around. Seeing those pointed ears always ruined her appetite.

Grinning, she handed him one of the boxes. "You’ll never wear it, but who else could they’ve had in mind when making it?" She kissed him on the cheek, glaringly flirtatious and utterly celibate. “Happy birthday, Romeo. The world would be .0028% duller without you.”
Reply
He held it up against himself, and beamed. True, he would never wear it, but he rather liked the sentiment she'd put behind it. "Thanks, Jelly." It was said with real warmth, and he leant forward to return the kiss to the cheek, hand coming to tuck itself against her waist for the smallest moment. They'd never do anything, of course, they were both completely sexually ambivalent towards each other, but Remy always found it amusing to pretend.
"So? That's all you've got for me?" He tutted. "No standards these days! Sheesh. And I thought you did good on parties!"
