Can I just say that my own political views aside, it is the LAMEST thing ever to ditch a friend because of political views?

You definately can say it. Others have too on the other post. His wife's still on my friends list, so I know he will have access to the other post anyway.

I still like and respect him, just am dissapointed.

Religion and Politics, the two main topics to stay away from in a friendship, unless both people are mature enough to have a logical discussion and can at least listen to opposing points of view rationally.

BTW... you ever considered running for political office? Your post made a hell of a lot more sense than 90% of the stuff coming out of congress currently no matter what party it is.

Actually, I ran for City Council when I was 19 ;-). I didn't get it, but the person I ran against was someone who'd had the office for two decades.

Though btw, thank you for the compliment. I do try to make sense with politics, as sorting through it is half the problem.

Of course, I also miss Chuck Hagel (R) Neb Senator. However, he's now going to be teaching, so there is hope for his example to shine on.
