you havent lived until someone shatters your heart into a thousand shards. you wont know what it means to be alive. pain lets you know you are alive and not just drifting along. after you wallow in self-pity, anger, hatred, and ennui you'll start to grow. it's like when neo starts to believe, or when obi wan tells luke skywalker he's taken his first step into a whole larger world.
it may take months or years to recover from something fucked up. rejection, failure, death of a loved one, serious illness, house burns down, rape, you name it. and some may never heal. but should you survive, life truly begins. when you are whole again, the world is different to you. you can do things you couldnt and you see things you didnt. youll understand. youll stop wasting time.
