*snorts* I'm usually the main course for mosquitoes in my neck of the woods.

Does your boy rent out?

Now I'm happily picturing a multitude of bears wearing Magic Technicolor Dream Coats!

Welcome back - kudos for survivial.

tries not to snicker too loudly...fails and continues to roll on the floor laughing picturing the whole Romie Family Vacation Adventure.
*waves* a drive by wave as we're now leaving for vacation.
To the beach.
We're leaving the bears here.

My luck? I'll find a shark.

Welcome back to civilization. We have mosquitoes here for the first time in years and years. Poor Ci doesn't know what to do, so he scratches till they bleed, then slaps a bandaid on them (without my consult). He was up to about 15 when he left for New Hampshire/Vermont. New England beat him to submission pretty quickly with the amount of bugs they have there. Plus three yellow jacket stings. Good times!

We do the tent thing and I bought a brand new 6-person one, plus a lighter-fluid-less charcoal lighter thingy for our trip this August, only to be moving in/around The Reno. It ain't gonna happen. Not me alone with the kids. We'd totally be bear/coyote/mountain lion bait.

*waves*

With that many bears, I would have taken off for home! Not that I like "roughing it in the woods."

I'm impressed with your son. Steam cleaning the carpet. It makes up for all the beer, right?

I live in a place so dry that we don't get mosquitos. It is also too dry for fleas (my doggie is thrilled about this).

It seems like a minor thing, but it is kind of awesome to lack the foul miniature beasties drinking your blood. [Our state bird is the mountain bluebird - I've never seen one because it is a Northern bird.]

Welcome back and congratulations on surviving.
