Die Kirschblüte im Raum Kyoto / Tokyo beginnt meist Ende März und geht bis Mitte April. Also genau jetzt :) Ich habe daher die schönsten Fotos von meiner vierten Japanreise im März/April 2014 für euch rausgesucht. ^__^

Cherry blossom in Kyoto / Tokyo area usually takes place between end of March and mid of April. That is right now :) Therefore I will show you the most beautiful pictures from my forth journey to Japan in March/April 2014.

The cherry blossom wanders from the south to the north over Japan.
Die Termine der Blütenöffnung für die einzelnen Regionen werden landesweit im Fernsehen angesagt. Eine Übersicht für 2014 und 2015 und weitere Statistiken habe ich auf jnto gefunden (auf Englisch).
The dates for the opening of the cherry blossoms are announced over TV. I found an overview for 2015 and 2014 and additional statistical data on jnto (in English).
Die Blüten sind an einem Baum jeweils nur wenige Tage geöffnet, bevor sie verblühen. Zum Glück blühen nicht alle Kirschbäume an einem Ort zur exakt gleichen Zeit. :)
The blossoms on one tree wither within days. Fortunately, not all blossom on one tree are in full bloom at the exact same day :)
Es ist relativ schwierig, an einem bestimmten Ort zur besten Zeit zu sein. Z.B. kann Regen in der Nacht die Öffnung der Kirschblüten am nächsten Tag beeinträchtigen... Es empfiehlt sich daher, bei der Tagesplanung flexibel zu sein und den Verlauf Kirschblütenfront zu verfolgen.
It is quite difficult to be in one location at the best time. For example, rain at night could influence the cherry blossom opening on the next day. It is recommended to have flexible plans for the next days and to follow the cherry blossom front announcements.
Ich hatte gedacht, dass Kirschblüten rosa sind, aber 90% waren weiß...
I assumed that cherry blossoms are pink, but 90% were white...

Das Betrachten der Kirschblüten ("Hanami") ist ein großes Hobby der Japaner. Es ist daher entsprechend voll in den Parks und Tempeln. Ich habe selber keine Leute in Parks picknicken sehen, aber im Bereich von Tempeln. :)
Watching the cherry blossoms ("Hanami") is a big hobby of the Japanese people. Therefore it becomes very crowded in the parks and temples. I did not see people picknick-ing in parks, but I saw them in temple grounds. :)

Zur Kirschblüte gibt es in Japan viele saisonale Produkte und Aktionen: z.B. Kirschgeschmack in Eiscreme, Tee, Schokolade, Taiyaki und Burger-Sauce bei McDonalds. Es gibt spezielle Prämien in den SupermAuml;rkten / conbinis und viele Geschäfte sind entsprechend geschmückt :)
Around cherry blossom, there are many saisonal products and campaigns: E.g. cherry flavor in ice cream, tea, chocolate, Taiyaki and sauce at McDonalds. There are special promotial events at supermarkets / conbinis and many shops are decorated accordingly.

Ehrlich gesagt mag ich Herbst in Japan lieber als die Kirschblüte, denn ich mag die kräftigen Farben von Herbstlaub lieber. ^_^
Honestly, I prefer autumn in Japan over cherry blossoms, because I like the darker autumn colors more. ^_^
