Event report: the vintage event "Flaneur Bonn" at September 2016 in Bonn

Nov 13, 2016 21:46

I attended the vintage event "Flaneur Bonn" on September 4, 2016 in Bonn / Germany. It was organized by the makers of the vintage magazin "Vintage Flaneur" and "Birds and Kisses".
Background
Back in November 2015, I was searching in online shops for a specific cardigan by King Louie. In the online shop of Miss Mole, I stumbled upon the vintage magazin Vintage Flaneur. I decided to buy it and wrote a review of issues 13 and 14 (in German) in December 2015.

Around December 2015, it was announced that there will be a vintage event in September 2016. A facebook event and a website were created for the event. The event would run over the weekend, starting on Friday, Sept 2 and ending on Sunday, Sept 4.

I attended the event on the last day (Sept 4) for 1,5 hours. The ticket costed 15 €.

The location
The event was held at the BaseCamp Young Hostel Bonn, an event hotel where guests can book nights in vintage caravans, campers or an old train. ;)

The hall contained a stage and all the stalls. A small part of the hall had a second floor. It contained food stalls.

My outfit
I like vintage fashion, but I do not own much at the moment. I like lolita fashion, a street fashion that originates from Japan and combines influences from the Victorian and Baroque ages. Lolita fashion is in some ways similar to vintage fashion. I own many lolita clothes and therefore decided to go for a casual lolita look:

Top   "Chiffon and Cotton Mid Sleeve Cutsew" by Chérie Cerise, Chile Skirt   "High Waist Skirt" by my-lolita-dress, China Petticoat   by Chérie Cerise, Chile Bag   "Book Bag" by Innocent World, Japan Tights   Tights with crown motif by Teja Jamilla, UK Shoes   bama, bought at Reno
The vendors
Many different kind of vendors had stalls at the event, ranging from clothes and accessories over magazines to food. You can see the complete list at the event's website.

I remember seeing the stalls of the following shops:
Clothes and accessoires: Vecona Vintage, Top Vintage, John's Vintage, Puderblond, Fräulein Wildkirsch, Laurence Leleux Hüte, Kleinkariert
Food: Löffelei und Gabelgunst, Frozen Hibiscus, O'Donnel Moonshine
My purchases
I bought a wall calendar of Löffelkunst with cooking receipies from the US. The calendar is not bound to a special year, therefore you could use it every year. ;)
They had a special offer: you can decide the price for the calender. It seems I gave too much money, because I received two posters in addition. ;)
In retrospect, I should have asked to get the first issue of the calender in addition instead of posters.
The picture shows the posters (left), a leafet with recipies (bottom left), the calender (bottom right) and an adhesive sticker (upper right).

At the stall of O'Donnel Moonshine I had a closer look at their three versions of handmade liqueur. In the end, I bought one glas of roast apple ("Bratapfel"), with apple juice, cinnamon and vanilla because it tasted funny and sweet. I had to buy also the special outlet that is required for the glas. (14,90 € for 350 ml plus 2,90 € for the outlet)

I bought the first issue of the sway magazine (5,90 €) because I like to buy the first issue of new magazines. ;)

I tried the ice cream of Frozen Devil and really liked it. Unfortunately, I could not buy ice cream because my hotel room did not have a fridge. They even had little cooling bags to carry home the ice cream!

My personal summary

It was nice to spend some time at the event and to browse all the stalls. ;)
The list of vendors was really long, therefore I had expected a much bigger location.
The show program on the stage was very "American", therefore I did not pay much attention to it.
