New hair cut, March 2017
I had long hair most of my life, something between shoulder length and slightly longer.
In theory, I could have created a lot of different hair styles.
But I am always short in time when getting ready for work, so I always styled my hair into a pony tail. I also wore a pony tail nearly 90% outside of work.
I got really bored of the pony tail and I even started to get pain at the hair roots from the pony tail.
It was clearly time for a new hair cut. ;)
I searched for inspirations in the internet and looked through older pictures of me with different hair styles.
In the past, I had a pixie hair cut in 2004 and then grew my hair out. I did not want to have the pixie back, but I liked a hair cut with "intermediate" length, called "Bob" in German.
I showed the following pictures to my hair dresser:
1. top left: Queenie Goldstein from the movie "Fantastic beasts and where to find them"
2. top right: Elisabeth Shaw from the movie "Alien - Prometheus"
3. bottom left: A picture from a website with hair styles
4. bottom right: Actor Mila Jovovich, e.g. from the "Resident Evil" movies
I also brought a picture of myself from 2005 with a similar hair cut and a picture of the instagram user Nobunassyi.
At the end of march 2017, I went to the hair dresser and had my hair cut at chin length into a "Bob" hair style.
I think the pictures helped my hair dresser to understand what I was aiming for: curly and chin length. The pictures also avoided misunderstandings.
I am also dying my hair in different shades of reddish-brown since December 2014. For the first dye, I went to my hair dresser. I had a second dying appointment with the hair dresser in August 2017.
In between, I dyed my hair at home with dye from the drug store. I am still experimenting with different brands and different colors and try not to stain my furnitures at home. ;)
I am very happy with the new hair style.
My hair is now getting a lot more "in the way" (read: obstructing my view), but I like it nevertheless. ;)
