As one who strictly follows the Hellenic pantheon, I can't relate to the idea of eclecticism. But I do know that if it seems important to you and/or that The Gods approve or are calling you to do it, the best thing that you can do is to go for it. They always know what's best. I suppose, that for an eclectic, and again, I can't speak from experience here, it's about what resonates with him/her. That said, your's is the most extreme form of eclecticism that I've ever come across. Well I don't think of myself as eclectic...more Syncretic at times with a touch of eclectic. I look at it as creating mythology. I use the original story and rework and in the end change it and make it uniquely my own.

And I agree the ancients did the same thing. And while we rarely think about it, but i think it was more common than most recons feel comfortable admitting.

While I have gods that sit outside the realm of Graeco Roman Polytheism, I don't have an issue with creating 'scripture' for my personal use. Not that I"m advocating that everyone should...

If you keep calling what you do "scripture" of course that would appear something heavily serious, solemn, and maybe dogmatic -- BUT if the name was "myth" or maybe "hymn", something more akin to poetry, maybe this lightness would inspire you in a different way ;-)))

I of course see what I'm doing as more of myth making or even myth weaving....A place where I express my inspirations, desires and love for not only mythology but also the figures.
