I don't think of them as malicious, but as primordial, chaotic forces that certainly could be inimical to humans, but in the way a hurricane is.
And remember Prometheus was a Titan.

i was thinking of that from man's perspective these primordial gods were 'malicious' in that sense-being chaotic, creative forces-

Prometheus, I have a soft spot for this particular Titan :-)

But perhaps from man's perspective

Hekate is a Titan too. :)

I'd say that not all are malicious but best to tred carefully. "Primordial" is a good way of putting it.

primordial for sure, but not malicious.
would we go easily if a race more 'sophisticated' than we came in to supplant us?
the war in many ways symbolizes the struggle to maintain contact with one's basic nature, the good and necessary parts of it, while not being mired in reactivity and allowing oneself to progress and vibrate at a higher level.

I just view them as different. I think they were different set of gods. I think the waging of war is purely metaphorical.

In the Orphic view they certainly seem to represent the evil side of material creation. They tore baby Dionysus apart, after all.

Some iconic representations of Mithras seem to have him banishing demons of darkness, which might be interpreted as Titans.
