My car has an Obama bumper sticker on the back. I park in the garage at the bus stop downtown. A little over a week ago -- about a week after Hillary Clinton suspended her presidential campaign, my driver's side window had this on it.

I don't see any flocking, apparent or otherwise. The blog and media coverage is driven by the sheer absurdity of the spectacle.

If someone reigns, they aren't just another "politician". The author has a point. The last time we had a "reigning" monarch, was... OK, so it's King George. My point is that Obama is an actual politician. You know, one who actually works for votes, rather than feeling entitled to them.

More than that, the use of scare quotes is telling. He's not saying that Obama isn't a politician, s/he's saying he isn't a "politician". wink, wink. Get it?

Of course, this is an awfully big effort to give someone credit who probably didn't think that hard about it.

You give the post-it writer way too much credit IMO to think that they used the pseudointellectual construct scare quotes as opposed to the more common unintellectual construct emphasis quotes.

To be fair, in re the "flock" question, I haven't personally met anyone who will vote McCain now that HRC has gone. But they exist, at least, supposedlyYes. The use of the word "reigns" has a long list of issues, particularly considering this was over a full week after Hillary Clinton suspended her campaign. -- which itself was nearly a week after Obama had locked in the nomination based on having a majority of pledged and declared delegates ( ... )
