Wow, that's a helluva piece and a lot meatier than what we get fed by the press.

The big question of course is what can be done to combat these tactics. Our military does not seem to have an answer, and the administration seemed to believe that after the Iraqi people were done tossing rose petals and chocolates at our troops, that they would then get down to the business of ratting out their neighbors and snitching to the Americans and their running-dog lackeys in the provincial government. What the US commanders failed to take into account was that more than a few Iraqis wouldn't be so quick to forgive the US for bombing the living fuck out of their country, killing their friends, family, and neighbors, and destroying the country's infrastructure.

this piece is not anti-american government. your attempts to turn an interesting article regarding military situations and techniques into a provincial lambasting of the Bush administration are not appreciated.

that being said, the arms race that is going on here between the insurgents and the coalition forces is interesting in that the technological know-how indicates an external organization or state that is providing support.

this is not your typical guerilla insurgency.
