For those of you who remember, Alice was my rescue that I got from Craigslist for twenty bucks (cage included). We got her out the other night and scrubbed her cage, as well as measured her and let her play on our bed (her favorite place to be!).
She's five foot nine inches long (about).
This is her peaking out from the pillow after she had managed to curl up into it. It shows a lovely picture of her pretty red tail markings!
Here she is just peeking out from her warm hiding spot. We put a pillow case in her tank after this, and she curls up in it to sleep, it makes a wonderful hide for her!
That's my big girl! I wanted to get a full body shot of her.
Just another face shot.
You can see her head in this picture too. The angle was wrong.
This is part of her tank set up. The cool side holds her pillow case, then a cat liter pan of water (need to get a bigger one for her), then a towel that she use to curl up with, her grape wood branch that she obviously adores, and then, what you can't see, is her basking spot. The tank is 6 foot long by 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall.
A better shot of the tank set up. We've removed the towel for now, and I try to keep the water in the far corner, but she insists and will move herself over there to it, so I gave in. (We also now have a no-light ceramic heater for night time heat. Her basking spot is always 88 +, the cool side is 79 to 81 and the ambient temperature in the tank is 84 degrees. Her humidity is a little higher than normal as of right now (shedding) but it stays at 53 most of the time.
If there is anything that I am doing wrong, please, be gentle but let me know. So far she's been eating frozen thawed well, and her shed is almost off, but in one full piece. I want her to be the happiest snake that she can be.
