Not a bad weekend
funnygirlkawaii and I had originally planned to attend FenCon this weekend. We took a look at our finances and realized that it would simply be impossible. (Not having enough money month to month is really wearing on us.) Since we took Friday (and Saturday, for me) off we decided to just hang out at home and make the best of things.

I just want to thank everyone who sent birthday wishes. You've made turning 40 actually fun. Special thanks to all of you who came out to breakfast and dinner yesterday. That was sooo great of you. Four decades...
...and people still can't guess my age. Not bad, considering.
It's just after midnight on the 23rd and at 5am Central time (4am Mountain) I will be 40 years old. As a small gift to myself, I'm taking the day off of work and I have no plans for most of the day. I finally have a new sewing machine since I came to the conclusion that my old one was terribly out of tune and there's no way I can get the thread tension balanced right. I took it to Sears for service since it's a Kenmore. Trouble is it's from the '70s (maybe even '60s) and they no longer make parts for it. They took a small service fee and ( Read more... ) -

Well, I've finally finished about six copies of my steampunk-styled pistols. They're constructed entirely of steel, brass, copper, and wood all lovingly hand built.
