HP is NOT being charged with plagarism -- Warner Bros is. I actually know the founder of the Wyrd Sisters and they've been a really good band with a strong following for more years than HP's had fans. Kim was just objecting to them changing the name of the band in the movie from Weird to Wyrd and creating a "real" band that was doing publicity concerts. They changed the name of the band back but the band the movie created was still using wyrd and being belligerant. They actually contacted the band founder when they decided to call it Wyrd Sisters for the movie and offered her $5,000 for permission. She declined as there was no good reason and it was not in the best interests of her band to be considered a "copy cat" even though her band was established for years before HP.
That's interesting... But I'm a little confused... Why did Warner Bros change the name Weird Sisters to Wyrd Sisters? I'm not sure I understand...

I'm sorry you are so angry at us. I wish I could take the time to explain. The chart magazine did not fairly represent what happened. What happened is that the lawyers from Warner Bros called us in June and *threatened* us. They told us that if we didn't sign some papers agreeing to co-exist with them then they'd 'have their army of lawyers shut our little girl's band down
