Oh dear. I didn't realize I'd left it that long.
Oh well, I've been rather busy. Got my resume done. Got my intro letter done. Sent off my exit paperwork. Still waiting on severance... and that's getting annoying, 'cause I have bills to pay and things to do and winter to out run. It's getting cold already and I so don't wanna out drive another blizzard.
I spent four days scanning all my old, pre-digital pics into computer so I can have them at will. Putting as many of them as possible into albums. Still have a bunch that need albums. Some that need labels. More than need framed.
But hey... they're boxed. So are the frames and albums that have pics in them. Mostly. I have one box of frames that are for pics but I could never find the pictures. Now I know exactly where they are.
Speaking of pictures. I found an awesome collection of film waiting for development. Like 15 rolls total. Two rolls were labeled 1999. One roll was in a camera I thought I'd lost before I moved to Maryland 16 years ago. Three were in a box with a disposable camera from 2002. And the others, well, I know three are Lizzy's from the last US Botanical Garden trip. I think one is from the National Zoo and two are from the Maryland Zoo at Baltimore - all Lizzy's. One might be mine from the Botanical. The others? No clue at all. We're both anxiously waiting. And because of the number of film the store would not do one hour prints. So, we should get them back next week. Bummer.
The books are boxed. All 1800 that are coming with me. Liz' books are being packed. Yeah, I have three more boxes out in storage that need to be cataloged, but that's another day. The glassware is packed. The excess books, 42 boxes and crates worth have been donated to Goodwill and the library. I experimented with Freecycle and it was interesting. Too many people said they wanted stuff and then just never showed or responded once I said they could have, so I need to borrow a truck and take it to the Swapshop. The bookshelves, sea shells, sewing machine, and sewing table got new homes. The dressers, the table set, and various other big things did not get picked up so go to Swapshop. I'd do Goodwill or Salvation Army but I've made arrangements with them to pick up stuff before and neither time did they show up or call or even acknowledge anything but... 'yeah, we said we'd be there, something must have come up. Do you want to reschedule AGAIN?' Tis annoying.
Kitchen stuff is mostly packed. Living room is packed except for the DVD player. Still gotta do the incidentals that seem to roam through the house. Lizzy keeps hiding things 'cause they're in her way. Then they reappear when she moves them back to where they were a couple of days ago. It's like having an deranged house elf in the house. You never know when something will show up out of nowhere. Mostly it's nothing big but occasionally...
And somewhere, I have no clue where, I have lost my travel plans and maps. Drats. I have labeled boxes everywhere. I have laundry to be done. Boxes of stuff still to go to Goodwill. And I lost an envelope? One single, plain looking, envelope. I know it was on the table. That was Saturday morning. But today? Stress is so not my friend.
