It's been a wild summer
Mom had heart valve replacement surgery on June 15th, so the summer has been taken up with the hospital, rehab, the hospital, home health, and cardiac rehab! If one of your loved-ones has this surgery, I suggest getting the most comfortable clothes and shoes for yourself prior to the whole thing. Whoa--it's been too long since I updated
I didn't realize it'd been so long since I let everyone know what's going on! So, here goes:

Spring = Snow?? and other updates
First day of spring and we had snow today!! I don't mind--but lots of people were pissed off! They'd been dreaming of warm days and spring flowers--my Mom included!! I'd rather it be cooler than warmer and 34 degrees Fahrenheit seems wonderful to me ( Read more... ) -

Here it is, the end of February! I hate February--not because it's cold but because my Mom gets so depressed! Her wedding anniversary is on the 7th and my Dad's birthday is on the 24th! Double whammy of mourning for her. This year was especially bad since she is probably going to have to retire from a job she really loves because of her ( Read more... ) -

Life continues to move along. Mom is doing better--physical and occupational therapy are both going well. So far, though, she isn't ready to start the driving classes (she has to meet certain criteria and she isn't there yet). The therapists are really impressed that she's back to playing games on her computer--she's a lot slower than she was, ( Read more... ) -
What a weird Christmas!
Last week was the longest week of my life!! My Mom had a stroke on the Sunday before Christmas. We didn't realize it at the time. She was tired all day Monday, so I asked my sister to come take a look at her--my sister is a ER nurse. Shelby was at the vet's today!
Took Shelby for a blood pressure check on Saturday and discovered she had an abcessed tooth! Poor Baby! She got that one pulled today, so now she doesn't have any teeth on her upper jaw on the left side! Of course, since she doesn't chew her food, this isn't a problem ( Read more... ) -
