To leave or not to leave, that is the question

So I put my back out, right? And I (naturally) have to take sick leave. Horrible pain involved - here, says my doctor, take these anti-inflammatories. Next thing I know, sick as a dog! More sick leave. So 10 minutes after I call work to explain that I need another day and why, one of the team leaders calls me. Are you coming in tomorrow? he says. ( Read more... )

Oh Dear, I know JUST how you feel.

I have spent the last TEN months suffering from a herniated disk in my back. Due to a strange calculation my job has offered me no worker's compensation. So here I am, completely broke, in total pain and miserable... yet they still want to know when I am coming back, as they have "invested" in my training.

I don't know the rules at your job or in your country, but if you have a note from the doctor... they should really leave you alone to recuperate. More stress is the LAST thing you need.
