This is wonderful, wonderful. Everything - the vigils, Ronon's realization that they're holding them for him, too, his determination, the language, the pacing, the details. I'm weepy now.
Also, "I was never going to hurt Kavanagh." YES. THANK YOU.
I don't know -- I'm new to the fandom too, but I'm guessing yes. I just. I mean I can definitely see him as capable of some pretty brutal acts, but it would seem out of character for him under those circumstances. Someone they all know, someone they have very little evidence against, I just don't see it. But then I thought that whole episode was pretty dodgy as regards the appropriate use of "harsh interrogation methods."
This is amazing. Thank you so much. It's as much a Teyla story as a Ronon story (oh my god, like birthday and Christmas at once!). You've captured both of them so well. Ronon's POV is very true to him and you paint such a true, painful portrait of Teyla underneath her usually calm exterior and what she's going through without needing her to be onscreen for very long at all. Loved when she came through the gate and just that short description of her appearance seemed to tell us so much about what had gone on out of view. Lovely storytelling--loved the start: mournful and slow, and then--like a knife slash, Teyla's gone. Especial favorites were that opening, the scene when John punched him, and the scene when Ronon brings Teyla back to Atlantis. Loved Ronon's fierce loyalty (his appeal to let him give her a home was perfect) and everything Teyla in here. WONDERFUL. PLEASE, HAVE MY FIRST BORN.
I'm so very excited that you liked it, I can barely contain myself! EEEE! I figured, with your lovely Teyla artwork, that you wouldn't mind that it's so much a Teyla story, too. I was nervous about the fact that it wasn't a happy story--but the bunny about Teyla-as-Runner just bit and wouldn't let go. The scene where he accused John of leaving Teyla behind was another one of the first scenes I 'saw.' :)
Thank you for the offer of your first born. I find babies very tasty. *g*
Edited because tasy babies are not the same as tasty babies. And I don't actually eat babies. My 8-month-old just has really nibble-worthy toes.
Oh, oh, oh, this is so beautiful! The violence of Teyla's feelings, the quiet determination of everyone else - and the fact that all of them kept vigil. Oh my heart. This is just wonderful.
Thank you, for reading and the lovely comment! I was especially worried about this, because it's so ouchy, but Ronon and John and Rodney's steadfastness in the face of Teyla's loss really helped me, too. *smile*

I wasn't in fandom the first time the episode with Kavanagh aired--was it as insulting to Ronon's character the first time around?
