Poker question number 2:

How can I improve my post flop NL play?  I have a hard time valuing and evaluating hands post flop, which leads to problems betting them.  I'm much more comfortable getting the money in before or on the flop.  Which leads to a game I often call "Suck out on Ron".

Play lots of deep-stack nolimit.

That is hard to do around here. The closest I can come is a tournament that starts with t6000 and 12 minute levels.

Yeah, with no reasonable online option and you living in SC, it's gonna be hard for you to get in enough practice.

Any reasonable discussion alternatives or apps? 2+2/RGP/LJ/BARGE list seem to be unlikely places.

I mean by this point, I know the basics, I need to fine tune and hone my game.

If you're in a game where you can easily get it in before or on the flop, and you know when you're ahead, then "suck out on Ron" sounds like a very profitable plan on average.

For deeper-stack style, where you just can't get it in early very easily, once you have the basics it pretty much comes down to practice. Apps, discussion, and books are very helpful in support of practice, but cannot replace it. If you don't have deeper-stacked games available and you're not willing to take the effort and risk required for online play, I guess frequent trips to somewhere that has lots of poker is the best option.

My regular game is the $10 buyin $.10/.20 home game. For a few years now, we've been playing very short handed, so "Suck out on Ron" was a very profitable and easy strategy. Last night, however, we had a full table with some deep pocketed LAGs who changed the texture of the game. At the end of the night, we had $400 on the table and the standard PFR was $2.50 which would get at least 4 callers.

I kept doubling up and then getting stacked by playing "Suck out on Ron" which is what made me think about how bad a player I am post flop and why I am weak on turns/rivers.

Oddly, in tournaments, I don't have nearly as much of a problem with this. I can two and three barrel in a tournament, but for some reason, I have trouble with it in cash games.

Are you getting stacked before or after the suckout has occurred ( ... )

Suckout = Stacked.

Although I did shove in with OMG I HAVE ACES once last night on a Q868 board. But I was big betting preflop and flop. I also lost when I big bet with 62s (SB). Limped in, led out on the flop with middle pair and flush draw. Hit two pair on the turn, still with the flush draw and bet all in and got called by TP (bad kicker) who paired his kicker on the river. But at least that time, the player admitted he played bad and he told me that he felt I was bluffing because I bet out without taking any time to consider the hand.
