After an intensive internal debate and subsequent discussions with numerous LJ friends (props to adamlizz and schaden_freude) I have come to a decision. I strongly believe in my project and this story deserves to be told. If for no other reason than my personal satisfaction. I think the idea behind the NaNoWriMo is just to get people to do the blappage. A lot of people work better under deadlines. Since NaNo is an honor system thing...there's no prizes for being first...no one reads your story...it's just a way for the group to support each other while they get the blappage down.

For years, I struggled with not being able to get past the first chapter because I wanted it to be perfect before I went to two. Hence, I never got to two.

But don't stress if you don't make the word count in the time alotted.

But you have to admit...you've at least started the project, gotten further than you would have without the motivation.

So, it's all good. *g*

I most heartily admit that NaNo got me up off my lazy duff and made me realize there is a story inside that should be told. Without the initial hoopla, I'm sure I would still be sitting around procrastinating.
