I like to think I'm a strong, independent, empowered woman.
But the truth is, I try just as hard to please everyone around me, and not make waves, and make sure everyone likes me, as the women I distain.

I do those things too. Part of living in any society is attempting to conform yourself to those around you, if even just on the most basic and subtle levels. You just gotta punctuate that general attitude with moments where you stand up for yourself, which you definitely have done in my knowing of you (Romeo and Juliet, anyone..??).
