Character Name: Leon S. Kennedy
Series/Movie: Resident Evil
Age: 27
Duplicate: N/A
AU: N/A

Timeline: He’ll be arriving after the Illuminados Incident during RE4.

Personality: Leon’s set in his ways. He has a good sense of right and wrong, and don’t expect him to go siding with the bad guys. Because of his years working as a government agent, he’s got a good sense of duty and loyalty towards others. Leon also knows that there are some things that people should or shouldn’t know.

The first incident in Raccoon City prepared him for the rest of his tasks down the road. This event made him both a stronger individual and leader. The Illuminados incident helped almost everything else. Mostly, it gave him closure that the one woman he felt drawn to during the Raccoon incident was alive and well after numerous run ins while he was trying to rescue the president’s daughter.

Also, Leon is determined. After the first incident, he was driven to shut down Umbrella and stop the world from during into a giant bowl of rotting corpses. Since the Illuminados incident, Leon’s just trying to help keep the world from going insane in general. And although Leon may come off as strict or uptight, he’s really the type of guy to use cheesy lines or lame puns. (Mainly to throw enemies off.) He does maintain a professional image though other than that.

Leon is like a rock for everyone to lean on when danger is in the way. It shows that he loves what he does and takes pride in his job. He's a compassionate man that believes a human life needs to be valued and be taken care of. He doesn't try to be a cool, over the top protagonist and is very genuine to himself.
His biggest fear would be failure in general, and the world just falling into a contaminated wreck via one of the viruses.

History: At the age of 21, Leon was fresh out of police academy and on his way to his first job at the Raccoon Police Department in the American mid-west town called Raccoon City. Unfortunately, he was late to work due to celebrating the night prior and he ended up driving into the mess that would be known as the Raccoon City Incident. On his way to the station, he came across a body in the road that ended up causing several zombies to surround him. Leon didn’t have a clue what was going on or why the people weren’t affected by bullets. He escaped this attack and came across a young woman by the name of Claire Redfield, who was looking for her brother Chris. The two decided to take refuge in the police station, but a car accident caused them to get separated.

Once separated from Claire, Leon came across Ada Wong while searching the police station. She was looking for her missing boyfriend, John, and the two formed a quick bond - Leon even took a bullet for her when a woman named Annette Birkin fired at them. Many of the creatures they came across were no problem, until a mutated William Birkin made a pass at Ada with one of his claws. Leon finds out that Ada’s a spy and only came to steal a virus; but not being quick to judge, Leon doesn’t believe this until he hears it directly from Ada. In the end, his life is saved by Ada when she shoots at a t-virus creature called “Mr. X”. The creature ended up falling into a pool of lava, but Ada is mortally wounded. She falls unconscious (Leon believed she died) after telling him everything. Leon reunites with Claire and the young daughter of William Birkin named Sherry on a secret railway and the group escapes the city on a train before the self destruct goes off.

For a while after the Raccoon City Incident, Leon looked after Sherry while Claire went back to looking for her brother. He eventually joins a U.S. government and does various classified missions for five years.

In 2002, he and a partner that was assigned to him named Jack Krauser were sent to a small South American country to infiltrate. They were to find a man named Javier Hidalgo, who was a drug lord that took over a large jungle area. Because there were reports sent back to the U.S. of strange things, the two investigated. It ended up that it was another t-virus outbreak, like in Raccoon City. There was one survivor they found - a young woman by the name of Manuela. She was Javier’s daughter who contracted a rare disease and was kept alive by her father via the Veronica virus. Leon and Krauser eventually had to fight Javier after he combined himself with a plant that was infected with the Veronica virus. Manuela helped them by putting the effects of the virus on her father. Javier was killed and Mauela went in custody of the U.S. Krauser was injured sometime during the mission and was on longer Leon’s partner. Later that year, Leon found out Krauser died in an accident.

Two years later, Leon became a part of the Secret Service. He was assigned to guard President Graham’s family, but his daughter Ashley was kidnapped and Leon was sent to find her. The search led him to a remote area of Spain. While investigating, Leon finds that something bizarre has happened to the people of the village. He finds out from his correspondent (Ingrid Hunnigan) that her kidnappers are a group of religious cultist called “Los Illuminados” that a man named Osmund Sadler leads. The cult uses a parasite called Las Plagas to take control over the locals. Leon evades death from them a few times and meets up with Luis Sera, who he later finds out used to be a scientist/researcher for Sadler. He also runs into Ada a few times, and she even assists him.

When he finally tracks down Ashley, he finds her in a church and takes control of the situation as the two try to escape. When they find out that both of them have been injected with the Plagas, they must race to find a cure while dealing with Sadler’s underlings like Bitores Mendez and Ramon Salazar. Leon also stumbles across his old comrade Krauser, who’s very much alive because of the Plagas. (But the old partners fight and Krauser dies.) Ashley gets abducted again and Leon has to fight his way through a military base to save her and then cure them. There’s a showdown between Leon and Sadler, who dons his “true form”, and Leon wins with the help of Ada and a “special” rocket launcher. Ada takes the Plagas sample and leaves safely, while Leon and Ashley escape on a jet ski. During a conversation as they’re escaping the island, it’s assumed Leon still has feelings for Ada.

Abilities/Powers: Nothing superhuman.

Sample Journal Entry: I think the helicopter drop-in went bad. This isn’t where I was supposed to be. At all. People could die if I don’t get two states over. So can anyone start explaining this situation? [There’s a sigh that’s heard. It seems Leon’s already figured out the voice posting aspect of the device.]

Maybe I should start by introducing myself. My name’s Leon Kennedy and I work for the government as an agent. I need to get to Ohio within the next… [Pauses.] …hour. Or things aren’t going to be looking so hot for them.

Sample RP: Another day, another job. Ever since the incident in Spain, it was one assignment after another. Some were bigger than others, but Leon couldn’t complain. He liked what he did and wouldn’t trade his job for the world. Sure, more than three days off during a two week span would be wonderful; but still. That was life.

Plus, someone with knowledge on these viral outbreaks had to be on call around the clock. The government picked him for that prestigious job months ago after living through the hell of Raccoon City.

The seasoned agent was on his way to Oklahoma. The government got a lead from an anonymous source that there may be a possible outbreak in the upcoming days, which was where Leon came in.

He was being put up in a small flat in the more populated section of town. This was so he could keep a better eye on things. Of course, knowing how outbreaks started it wouldn’t exactly be easy to completely stop it before anything got out of hand. Part of Leon actually hoped the tip was a fake. Yet another outbreak in a small town would be hard to contain. Look at how Raccoon City ended up. They had to drop a nuke there…

Pulling his mind back to the drive, his hands at the nine and three positions of the steering wheel as the car moved along the long, flat stretch of highway. He glanced at the dash’s clock. Almost five p.m. By the time he actually got there and settled it would be much later. The grumble from his stomach protested to this thought and Leon huffed a sigh.

What was this, a flashback to his first day at Raccoon? His eyes went shut for a split second while he ignored everything running through his mind and went back to focusing on the droning yellow lines on the gray road.
