How fucking dare you. How dare you sit there and lecture me for 45 minutes on missed opportunities when in reality all you are telling me is that by triaging that pt all I did was pass up a billable call. It's not that I missed an opportunity to help someone, its that we cannot bill now. And really the only reason you are telling me is because you ( Read more... )

Whups. Sounds like it might be time to look at position in other companies? Before you end up having to treat the guy you just trepanned with an IV rack?

On the other side, perhaps Mr. Curley and I can talk to you for a while about the preferred methods of character assassination that have worked for us both in the past?

I have been considering my options, and sadly there arent as many as I would like. Thus forcing me to contact higher education in the hopes of reconfiguring my job aspects. It's a step Ive wanted to make for a while, but lacked the motivation to go after. Also there is the option of switching platoons, but thats a big pro/ con argument ive been running for the past few days.

As for character assassination goes, its nigh impossible. Just about every street medic knows this guys a douche, the problem is he snuck into an assistant chief spot and is up our chief's ass. Granted even the chief thinks hes kind of a weasel, but our chief is all about loyalty first. He believes Bob (the dbags name) is on his side, so he will protect him to the end. And realistically I am not in the boys club so a backfired attempt will result in nothing but complications for me.

Thanks for the sagely advice though. the first line of your comment keeps staring at me, and its very true

Dude.

I - Hear - You.

Remember, he has to answer to someone too. I know my guys always come to the medical director if they think there might have been a questionable decision.

Hes an incompetent douche, and most of the medics I hold in high regard know that and dislike working with him. The problem is that he is very old friends with our QA person. ANd I am pretty sure he hasnt gotten a clinical qa in the years since that lady became the person. I would go to management first, I am friendly with my one boss and trust him. but if it doesnt pan out, my immediate supervisor could become an issue. I know all about whistleblower laws and such, i just dont know if it would all be worth it. In the end nothing will happen to him and my day could just become a little shittier.

A little background on my chief: I was a passenger in a vehicle, the driver backed into a cement pylon and knocked it out of the ground. I got a 30 minute talking to and a recorded verbal warning for not spotting the driver.

One of our medics got caught on a taped line that is automatically audited by the state saying why dont you tickle my balls. He had to write a 500 word essay on professionalism. Its the second essay hes had to write.
