I don't even see the point anymore. This city's never going to be fixed.

... That's what people say about New York, too.

Maybe it's true. Maybe it isn't. But, if we're going to live here for a long time, we have to try. To keep trying.

..Haha. Maybe I'm just not as jaded as everyone else yet. I'm sure I'll get there, eventually...

That seems to be the pattern here, doesn't it...

I hope you don't. I'm trying not to, but it gets harder the longer you have to deal with this place.

So then you just gotta wait for someone to get up and do something about it, no matter who complains.

Nice to meet you, I'm that person.

People have done that. Ashelin did do that.

And everyone threw a shitfit.

So I'm a bit hypocritical about Ashelin, there was another way to bring Walter out of hiding.. I know how he thinks, I've seen his mind before.

Hard to keep up with current events and protect your only friends from home at the same time.

Yes, you are. I can tell you that much. But, if Prince was your friend, I can understand why.

..Seen.. his mind? Then, tell me what a better way would have been, if that's the case.

I guess it's a good thing I don't have any friends from home here, then.

Damn am I sick of hearing this shit!
No. They do not deserve to be saved. You do too much for them and they take it for granted and call you the bad guy.

That is what it sounds like to me, at least. You are letting people walk all over you. You can not please everyone all the time so stop worrying about it.

No matter what you do, they will find something to complain and cry about.

In all honesty, I do not care about a police force. You can not punish the "EVIL" and Reward the "GOOD" in this city. If you are going to use force then do not hold back! Meaning; do not care so much about what people whine about and just get shit done.

This city is full of fools.

... They're still people. I can't allow a person to die on my watch.

Besides, I'm a New York City cop. I know all about doing things that upset people in the name of justice.

I'm not going to hold back. Don't worry about that. People complain all the time back home. I'm used to it.

It's just the fact that people are so damn ungrateful that this place has a police force at all that bothers me. We're trying our best and we get shit in return.

Then why are so many of you Police-Types complaining? You all claim how unrewarding your jobs are yet you all seem proud of it like some strange twisted pride. Almost as if you take PLEASURE in it. Make up your fucking minds! Do you hate or not?

This city is NOT your New York or my Nightmare. Stop treating it as such and stop comparing it to your old world. I keep making this mistake again and again. Perhaps you can not see it but I sure as hell can.

I have been here for only 17 days and I do not see just good or evil. Everyone is everything. If you are going to fight for "justice" then you have to figure out just what the hell that means in Discedo. It is obvious there is no black and white to chose from here.

Do not expect a reward from a job no one has any appreciation for. Either deal with what you do or shut the hell up!

((ooc: Strikes hackable))

... Everyone complains about their jobs. That's just how the world works. Just because we complain doesn't mean we don't enjoy it when we actually do something good.

I can compare it all I want. It's the same basic set up. Cops fight crime, get slack for not doing a "good enough job," people complain, riot, whatever. It's the same idea.

Tch. Even if there is no black and white of "good" and "evil," there's a basis that the majority can agree on. "Not killing people indiscriminately" is a good example of one. It's something that's inbred in everyone's minds.

I don't expect a reward. I never have. I just do this because I want to. I want to help fix this city, as long as I'm stuck here. But, if I have to deal with doing this job, then the citizens are going to have to deal with cops doing things that upset them. Fair trade, right? If we don't do anything, no one else is going to.

Okay, ignoring the rest of that for the moment...what's wrong with NYC? There's crime, yeah, but there's crime everywhere. It's the greatest place ever. Well. If you ignore the time I almost got eaten by a monster.

[...this comment wasn't what I was expecting him to say XD;;; But he's always like "New Yorkers are the greatest! (And I'm a New Yorker)" so, yeah. >.>;]

... Eh?? Oh, I love NYC, don't get me wrong. But it's hard as hell being a cop there. People don't respect the authorities and then bitch when they say the crime rate is "as high as ever."

There's only so much the force can do without the support of the people we're trying to protect.

...Same goes for here, actually.

.. Yes. I'm still a rookie, though. Only been on the force for six months.

... No, that name doesn't sound familiar, sorry.
