That whole incident with the flag pin just pissed me off. For God's sake, how is it news, that the man isn't wearing a pin?? Then he was grilled mercilessly for it on the so called "news" shows... Hell, I know people who didn't vote for him because they didn't think he was patriotic... just because of the pin! Then he decides it isn't that important. It isn't worth constantly pissing people off and losing votes, so he starts to wear it only to be torn down for that.

/Agree with most of what you said, but as you say at the end, lets stick to politics and leave plastic pins out of it. Neither candidate is a great find, hopefully one distinguishes himself as a better choice before election day.

Hey Dan! I agree with you that it doesn't matter whether he wears a pin or not. What was weird was how he equivocated about it.

Mr. Obama - especially with his abstract promises of "hope, faith, and change" - is certainly not apart from the glamorous celebrity side-show that has become politics. His vacuous campaign is being driven not by his ideas but by his branding - the "cult of personality" smell is certainly in the air. All of the links in your post were nice to follow, although your A HREF tags are messed up. Not a problem, though - they are easily modified in the browser window.
