I'm rather sad that I never got to this until now, because it's absolutely perfect. Everything that the characters have moved on to, the unexpected but simple and almost morose nature of Matt and Elena's lives now...everything.

Would it be selfish to suggest that this be an entire AU? Like, if I offer my helpful ~for science~ services, would that make the whole suggestion better? [insert bribery gif of choice]

It's okay, bb! I suck at commenting back so I am just getting to your comment now. This is just how I saw it happening. Like, if Elena chose to stay human and couldn't go with Stefan and Damon and Caroline, and poor Matt, not knowing until he opens the letter. I really liked the idea of them circling back to each other because they were the ones left behind. To me, they're very quiet and comforting, but it's just kind of sad.

It's not selfish! I just don't know how I could do that. I mean, I know some of the head canon I have for this verse, but I'm not really sure of most of it. If you have any ideas, ~for science~, I'm open to hearing them *_____*

Awesome fic! I love these "post-everything" fics where they all have to find their place and it's not truly working. I love the idea of Damon and Caroline playing tourists, and Bonnie trying to connect with her heritage. And I love that the whole Elena/Matt thing was there but just as complicated as simple, and not an instant falling back into old routines. Great fic.

Thank you! :D I really like exploring the possible futures in future!fic because everyone will have to find their place eventually. I love that little tidbit about Damon and Caroline, I could write a whole fic about that. I've always thought that's what Bonnie will eventually do, go out and search for who she is and people like her. And yes, that. That's exactly the idea around this fic. I'm so glad you liked it! :D
