I've been making a real effort to maintain positive framing of things this past year. For example, when making a request I focus on what I do want instead of what I don't want. I feel a bit guilty we didn't come out to lend 4 more hands. John was willing and I am burned out. Glad it went so well. I have been trying to frame positively and it is sometimes really hard. "Make sure that everyone gets to speak" has a lot less oomph compared to "Don't interrupt people who are talking". (That comes up in meetings at work a lot).

Yeah. This.

Actually, we both came to the conclusion that (A) we'd be too fried to make the 4-hour drive out; (B) we'd be too tired to be very effective once there; and (C) we'd be wrecks after the 4 hour drive back.

Had it only been a 2-hour drive, we'd have been there, no question.

So, we both Really, Really Wish that we could've helped. *hugz* to both you and Steve!

We love you, Dear Friend!
