Finished Dragonball Z

Man, I love this show!

Which is funny, because it's an action-oriented anime. I usually don't like action movies/shows. But despite the emphasis on action and fighting, there are still a great many poignant, almost tearjerking scenes. Like the many death scenes of major characters.

A few examples:

-Piccolo sacrificing himself to save Gohan, and using his last breath to tell the boy how fond he's grown of him.
-Vegeta (my favorite character of all!) meeting his end at the hands of Frieza, and, with tears in his eyes, begging Goku to take revenge for their fallen race.
-Goku transporting both himself and the self-destructing Cell away to protect his friends.
-Vegeta, again, meeting his end. This time, he blows himself up to destroy Majin Buu, but not before acknowledging the fact that he cares for his wife and son. I admit it, this scene is the closest I came to crying while watching this show.

To balance out these sad scenes, there is also a great many comedic elements. They're mainly present in the english version (which isn't that bad - I've definitely seen worse!), but the japanese version has funny moments too.

Some scenes that made me laugh:

-Goku promises Elder Kai a kiss from Bulma in exchange for his help. Vegeta finds out, and is quite irate ("Let him kiss your woman!" I was dying!)
-Tien's King Kai joke. He's so serious that he has to power up to tell it, lol!
-Master Roshi - a very dirty old man. Every time he grabbed an ass, I was laughing. Best one though: Bulma prepares to summon the dragon, and the others jokingly tell her not to screw it up like Frieza did. Roshi's 'helpful' advice? "Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he was wearing too many clothes." I had to pause it, I was laughing too hard to hear the rest of the scene.
-The Ginyu Force. The poses killed me.
-The early scenes with Mr. Satan. I love it when he starts randomly laughing in a quiet situation.
-Dabura, going from a battle-hardened King of Demons, to a flower-loving puss. The minute I saw him again, I was crying.

There are definitely more, in both categories, but I can't think of any right now. I don't care what anyone thinks - I love this show!

Best Season: Six (Cell Games Saga)
Worst Season: Two (Namek Saga and Ginyu Saga) and Eight (Babidi Saga and Majin Buu Saga).

1. Six (Cell Games Saga)
2. Three (Frieza Saga)
3. Four (Garlic Jr. Saga, Trunks Saga, Android Saga)
4. One (Vegeta Saga)
5. Five (Imperfect Cell Saga, Perfect Cell Saga)
6. Seven (Great Saiyaman Saga, World Tournament Saga)
7. Nine (Fusion Saga, Kid Buu Saga)
8. Eight (Babidi Saga, Majin Buu Saga)
9. Two (Namek Saga, Ginyu Saga)

Six is great because of the changes that take place in it, and because it's the last time certain characters fight alongside eachother.

Two is only half-bad, really. The Namek Saga is crap, but the Ginyu Saga is okay. For the most part, Eight is somewhat okay, but it loses steam in the later episodes (after Vegeta dies). Nine has the same problem, but only in the early stages.

Now all I need is a good group of DBZ icons, preferably with Vegeta.
