do you wear the flag to differentiate yourselves from americans? i met a canadian in china who had a canadian flag on her backpack and was appalled when people mistook her to be american. i also met a few americans who had canadian flags on their bags. hehe.

yeah, people dont seem to like americans abroad. we are definitely different in terms of where our government draws the line and where we stand on many issues such as military and public services, but i think most people just relate us into one clump because we're all part of the same media culture.

i met 3 americans on my travels. a girl who roomed with me in a hostel was from texas but she was cool and was originally from mexico, so i dont even think that counts. one guy was on a bus and he was yapping his mouth off about how he was glad arsenal lost to barcelona in the champions league final because he made 3000 off their sorry asses. the third was at the top of alexandra palace where a bunch of drunk american girls were obnoxiously bumming me and a friend for cigarettes acting like jackasses before they rolled themselves down a 60 degree incline hill. i hope there was a cliff at the bottom.
