BACKGROUND: Aerith was born to a loving mother on Radiant Garden. She grew up as a cheerful girl, picking flowers as a hobby and sometimes selling them to make a meager profit. She had long since settled into her role as the flower girl of Radiant Garden when the world fell prey to monsters, the likes of which she had never seen before. It was as if the shadows had gained eyes and claws and were swarming everything in their path. One by one, her loved ones were taken by this darkness, and finally, her entire world fell to it, leaving only a handful of survivors.
Despite the sadness she felt for their losses, she kept it locked up inside, having decided that it would be best to put on a cheerful face and be the optimist of the group as they searched for a new home. She determined that somehow, she would take care of them, and they would all make it through together.
Before long, they were found by a king from another world, and he explained the situation to them. Their world hadn't been the first to fall, he'd said, and things were only going to get worse. It turned out that Aerith's optimism was just what they needed. The evil that had destroyed their home was born of the darkness in people's hearts and was ravaging the universe, getting stronger each time a planet was destroyed, and he was worried that it might find its way into other universes, as well.
The king had some good news, however: there was a sanctuary, a planet survivors of the darkness could run to, at the center of realities. He took them to Traverse Town, where Aerith's powers began to manifest. It started with an unexpected awareness of all the connections this world had to other universes, and then came the bending, accidental at first, but soon enough she was controlling it almost effortlessly. She tested what she could do with the help of her friends; she'd always been the one to tend to their injuries, but now, she found she could make it as if they'd never happened. Her power only grew from there, the result of near constant use and practice.
When Leon decided to help other universes fight the darkness that had ravaged theirs, Aerith took steps to help, taking her knowledge of the ever-present realities and reaching into them in an attempt to make contact. The first time she tried, they lost that universe. But after that, they saved three. She was getting better at it, though it still pushed her limits.
Finally, they fell into contact with Professor Xavier, and together he and Leon arranged things so he could keep better tabs on the darkness threatening to manifest in their reality. Aerith had only tried once to take someone from reality and put them into another, so it was a strain for her - but nevertheless, she did it, and Leon had been established as a teacher. She couldn't do much after that, so she resolved to watch from their little hub world.
Recently, however, the king had showed up again, and told her that more worlds had fallen. After some discussion with her friends, she finally decided to follow Leon, and with the assurance that she would pull them in if they were needed, she contacted Professor Xavier again. Once their plans were confirmed, Aerith broke through to his reality, ready to become a teacher herself.
PERSONALITY: Aerith is a cheerful, friendly young woman who often worries about the people around her, though she can hide it well when necessary. When she's feeling negative in any way, she usually tries to put on an upbeat face for those around her. And although she seems rather naïve and acts like an airhead sometimes, in truth she is a very wise, understanding person, making her ideal to speak to about any problem you might have. She is possessed of a strong will and heart, which can make her seem stubborn at times. She has a certain degree of sass to her, so even though she is pretty kindly, in another moment she could very well be arguing calmly with you and you won't be able to debate the issue too much because she will have a point. Aerith is playful and has a tendency to flirt. Also, she seems to have a penchant for mixing odd drinks like soda with milk.
APPEARANCE: Aerith often wears her brown hair pulled back in a twisted ponytail, tied with a pink ribbon. She lets her bangs hang loose, as well as two curly locks on each side of her face. She has vibrant green eyes. Aerith wears a pink and white top held up by a pink cord that goes around her neck and is tied in a bow in front. The shirt has a white stripe around her chest, buttons beginning underneath in a wide vertical strip of white. The rest of her shirt is pink. Most of her skirt is pink as well, with only a thin white band around her mid-thigh. Her white underskirt shows from beneath it. Her outfit is completed with a pair of brown boots.
POWERS: She can warp reality. Aerith can change just one thing, an area, or even bend all of her current reality to her will. She doesn't do that often, though; she rather prefers a mostly unaltered world. Later in life, she also learned to warp the reality around injuries, thereby curing them.
