"In those days, I kept my hair up in an enormous bun - it took about 40 hairpins to keep it in place," she says. "I was sitting on the sofa beside Frank, talking to various people and I became aware after a time that the hairpins were being pulled out by somebody. Out they all came and my hair fell down. I suppose that is the way it all started."
