let's set up the ring in the garage tonight so we can start taking bets by the weekend. once word spreads, we'll be rich! (& possibly dead.)
oh, and see if you can borrow that truck again for a little trip to livingstone. they're smarter than your average bears there, or so i hear. everyone knows brainiacs can't brawl to save their picnic baskets.
peter is was SO AWESOME seeing you on sunday! did you like status? i am there almost every weekend so i hope i get to see you more! too bad we never hung out when we were BOTH in the tampa bay area! oh well..... if i get to see you ever in orlando then it will be GOOD TIMES! ~mle
haha. have you ever heard the expression of "being thrown to the wolves"? you're way too attractive, you really don't want some sort of angry nerd riot breaking out because a REAL GIRL actually came to class. seriously. the lengths some of my poor classmates have to go to keep them at bay are amazing. you can wear sweatpants with gravy stains, and they'll still be all over you trying to carry your books and 'get together to study at my place'. trust me. no good.
Congrats, man.rockmusicnerdAugust 30 2005, 17:31:24 UTC
I am finishing up my undergrad in computer science still (took time off after I was kicked out of the band) and will soon be a CS Masters student.
Don't know if I'll get the PhD just yet, though. I may go for a Japanese undergrad as well as CS Masters and try to get a job doing programming for Nintendo of Japan or Squaresoft, or some other awesome company that allows me to live in USA and Tokyo (and pays me enough to afford it).
I'm not sure what you're into these days, but if you've been following the PSP scene at all like the Xbox scene, you'll know how awesome it is for guys like us to program for.
I'm making a 2-D RPG engine (v.001 or something right now, it'll have 3-D elements if it ever gets to say version 3.0). If you're interested at all, check out my source code and such (it's OLD, just basic PSP init functions) at: www.framerate.info/psp .
If you're looking for projects, you're more than welcoem to help with programming/art/something

congrats yourself... i'm glad to hear you'll be joining the ranks of the grad students yourself soon. there's always the option for me to walk away after getting my master's here, but right now i'm way too into this whole ivory tower thing to consider it too seriously. i think i just have a thing for voluntary poverty. it's so glamorous to me.
hope the japanese possibilities come through for you. [expect me to be ridiculously jealous if they do. and possibly crash at your dojo sometime.]
i don't even have a psp right now (don't need any more distractions) but i'm sort of curious to see how the homebrew scene's popping off on it right now, i'll def check out your code and maybe i'll have a hand in it after all.
