Oh Jeffy, you were setting yourself up to fail hunny, you don't deserve that. You are not your father, and Annie would never let you act like that. best get your act together. AND NOT WHEN YOU'RE DRUNK BECAUSE THAT DOESN'T COUNT.
Heh. I think drunk Jeff is the only version of him who would let his guard down this much. With Britta or with Annie. He's probably still got some work to do before he'll be able to be the guy he needs to be.
And yeah, I like it when Annie and Britta get on, although I am still waiting for some sort of reference to how Annie felt about the Jeff/Britta reveal last season.
Agreed. We all know he's fighting a demon of some sort, and he's really closed lipped about everything. Alcohol loosens the lips. I love how you had the comparison bewteen father and son.
I want to know too, especially all the faces she made when they were fake getting married (I made the same faces just because it was sooo exaggerated it was almost disgusting).
I really enjoyed the Jeff/Britta interaction in this one. As much as I dislike the Jeff/Britta romance, I love the Jeff/Britta friendship. Their conversation in the bar was so them, and a supportive of Jeff/Annie Britta? My super favorite. :-)
I also giggled at Annie hoping Jeff would have performance issues. That was awesome.
I second the poster above on the Britta/Annie friendship. There isn't enough of it on the show, so I'm always excited when I see it in fic.
I'm very interested to see what happens when Jeff wakes up. After he takes care of his hangover, of course. ;-)
I'm glad it felt right. Jeff and Britta have a nice antagonistic but caring dynamic that can often seem callous, but I think they do have a very close relationship. I mean, they must have spent a fair bit of time talking in between their secret sex sessions.
I love their platonic relationship, and think it's one of the most interesting dynamics on the show. And while Annie now knows (in this fic, of course) that Britta's not a love rival, I think there will still be some jealousy, or perhaps envy, because of that closeness.
Yeah, I definitely think Jeff would have slept with Annie by now, if that's all he wanted. And he'd probably have shrugged off the consequences and been charming enough that they all forgave him.
I think his problems come from the fact that he knows a one off fling wouldn't be enough, but he believes that a relationship with Annie would end in disaster. I hope to see that aspect explored more on the show in the future.
Hey, so I think I might want to marry this chapter instead of the last chapter. That gets complicated though because they are in the same family...unless of course this is just the other side of the last chapter, in which case I am in the clear.
