The best place for descriptions of the types is: www.personalitypage.com.
The INTP stuff describes me amazingly well. Great-- pigeonholded by a 100 question multiple choice test. So much for depth and complexity of character.
If you search around on the web you should find a thousand free versions of the test.

Daft's pie chart is way better.

You'd be surprised at all the good chess players who are iNTp. On FICS we take the points and rule our own games like dominatrix sons of bitches. In conversation it's not about being seen as correct - that hardly matters - but about having correct beliefs. We can get foolishly argumentative about stupid points. To us they're not stupid, of course, because one simple point of misinformation invalidates every single thought developed on top of it!

In the general population we're a small number* but we're attracted to logical games, incremental growth/having control of our outcomes, having influence without being center stage, and probably all that other BS you saw in the Web report. I think Kiersey invented the iNTp test and that whole taxonomy but his institute now charges to give nice reports.

* iNTp's are supposedly 5% of the population but you'll find more of them out there than that. And I don't think it's because we have geekier friends. Perhaps the computer age has cultivated more iNTps.
