Admittedly, I am not much for celebrating my own birthday. In fact this is one of the few years I bothered to pay attention. I have lived by the seat of my pants this last year, but I suppose the only change is how things ended up as even the manner in which things occurred was in a sad sense typical. But many people helped me through yet another series of tough times and it has been very much appreciated.

What does "mostly a friend" mean?

On May 16-18, 2008, the J. Lloyd Eaton Science Fiction Conference returns to its home campus with special guests: Ray Bradbury and Frederick Pohl. There will be the first ever Eaton Award for Lifetime Achievement in Science Fiction. The theme will be "Chronicling Mars."

This is a bit more practical response to the requests that I supply information about what I want for Christmas.

As a sort of irony, several young ladies (each both beautiful and intelligent) that I know have become single ... the pity is that I do not believe any of them consider me their type ... heh such is the stuff of life. And the wheel of existential marvel continues to turnout its mysteries....

Long have I wondered, long have I paid penance for what started not long after the holy day for Christians that many of now preparing to celebrate.
