Huzzah! I'm glad it went well. And I hope you do ask him out. (It sort of took me a while to figure out dating, and by then I was in a relationship with Joel, so my impulse is to tell everyone that yes, you should ask out that person you're interested in, because while my first date with Joel was great, the second almost didn't happen because he wasn't sure I was interested*, and I wouldn't have asked because I wasn't feminist enough at that point.)

*circumstances mostly beyond my control meant I was super late to the date, and I'm never late.

Not to say that things are guaranteed to work out, of course, just to say that I wish I'd been braver when it came to dating. I wish I'd been brave enough to ask out some of those guys that I had a crush on.

Yeah, because of things that I've seen lately with friends and such I'm not at all interested in doing the subtle hints that nobody picks up on thing. So I have all these intentions about being clear...we'll see how that goes, ha.

I think being forthright is generally better than trying for subtle hints. It's hard enough to communicate when both individuals are trying to be clear.
