It's COLD here in the Chicago area!!!! Damn, it's cold!!!! And we've had three huge snows - one in late November, one in mid-December, some small ones, and then the huge one last week. The weather man just said on TV that we have had 42" so far - wow. I was going to guess 3 feet, but was afraid I was overestimating. Last week was the worst

Holy mother it's cold tonight - although looking at Oak Park's temps it's about five degrees "warmer" here. I put on my coat, hat, gloves, scarf & boots to walk run thirty steps to the compost bin tonight. We had some weather-related trouble earlier in the week, so I'm just happy we're getting snow and not more fricking rain.
I haven't seen a movie in months. Maybe we'll go see Spiderwick Chronicles this weekend - Neil Gaiman's daughter Maddy liked it, so I think SB will too. *g*

I'm feeling that way about snow this year, that's for sure. Yesterday I stopped at a Burger King, and had to open my car door to order and pay... because the window froze shut! *GT*
Love your misty purple trees icon.

I'm intrigued by your bent over double trees-- that must look so surreal! I bet they'll bounce back eventually. I wonder if you maybe you have red cedars (Juniperus) or white cedars (Thuja), or some more exotic conifers? For what it's worth, where I'm from the Thujas of that size are especially bendy and resilient.
Good luck keeping warm!

White cedar? It's possible; I'll look it up. Thanks!
