Help needed! How do I do Facebook?

So I'm not crazy about Facebook because of the lack of privacy but I miss all of my LJ friends and I think most are really on Facebook now. So what's the smart, keep your info private way to set up a Facebook acct?

Well, hi there, stranger! :) Facebook does have all kinds of privacy settings you can adjust to your own specifications, starting with who can see your stuff. You can set it, right off the bat, so only the friends you've added can see anything. Look for the little padlock icon in the blue bar at the top to adjust your privacy settings at any time.

So do you "group" people (or whatever it's called) so that some posts are only fandom posts and some only family can see and so on.

Or talk with family in fbook and fandom folks on LJ?

Do some people do two accounts - one with their real name and one not?

So, since you have the same concerns, do you have any suggestions, like how to set my info to make all my info top secret?
Also, the first thing it asks for access to my yahoo mail to find my friends. Big mistake or okay?

A few days late, but know that I was thinking of you on your birthday. Hope it was a wonderful day.

Also, to keep on the topic of you post, I don't use Facebook at all. And I don't use any other social media except Twitter. Yeah, I miss out on a lot of stuff. But I keep up enough.
