Of course there is the matter of wardrobe. Katherine is decked out in modern garb, liver-piercing heels, sleek leather, buttery curls, from head to toes a spiderweb in humanoid disguise. Elijah, who has had the bad taste to be in love with her all this time, for all he knows better, has to blink when he sees her again, then laugh -and because he fancies himself a martyr, fall in love with her all over again. Mathilde, I don't say this enough, but your talent is unbelievable. Katherine here, I just...
Katherine looking into the future because the past is useless - not that she forgets straight away that she was a glutton for beetroot - but so determined to do it. Katherine and her combination of feminine charm and neck-snapping power. Katherine with this marked disinterest in other girls, but Tatia and Elena and the dopplegangers still trawling their footsteps through her thoughts.
Your Katherine voice is so perfect. I love how you show how she transformed herself, the little things she took from her past, that shaped her future. The stories she made up in her head about women that didn't exist, but that she made real by playing the part, by becoming them, by using them. (I loved the scene where she was Lacey and asking about Elijah and Klaus.) And her transformation, her clothing choices, her nails; all the little pieces that made her into who she is now.
Basically all that rambling is means that I loved it and it was everything I could hope for and more. :D
