So here I am at Barnes and Noble, eating an overpriced reheated chicken wrap and black bean soup, and I open up my laptop and check my email -- careful, of course, to not introduce the black bean soup to my laptop. Welcome back to your dusty garden <3

I totally know what you mean...getting a degree in the creative arts means, to a certain extent, codifying what used to be simple expression to us. I'm not against going to school for the arts, but yeah, it's a difficult transition to make and I don't think anyone is really prepared for this let-down that happens after college.

When you're ready, I could suggest some books that helped me through the awkward bump (not to say I'm over the awkward bump, just that I've found something that's working for me, for now), although I'm guessing from this entry you've already read at least one of them (Rilke).

But congratulations on your degree! That is a good accomplishment, and I think EVERYONE finds themselves questioning dreams and motivations after school...perhaps just those who are used to expressing themselves creatively are more attuned to it.
