OMG, this fic is SO MUCH LOVE!!! Parts I particularly liked:

"I had no idea you were on gift-exchanging terms with Leslie Winkle," said Sheldon. "Has she assigned an official birthday to herself, or does she celebrate the anniversary of the day on which she was found under a rock?"

"Leslie Winkle has apparently decided to return to a 1950s dating paradigm, which, if I may say so, almost exactly parallels the time period at which her understanding of physics seems to have juddered to an ungainly halt."

Leonard insists that this so-called 'wingman clause' is boilerplate.

The general effect was partway between midcentury Soviet delegation and ineptly disguised supervillain.

I love Sheldon. Which is kind of handy, as I more or less live with him.

Also, I really wanted Leonard to be the one getting some benefit / unholy amusement / whatever out of the roommate contract, just once.

*laughs* Ah, very nice! I'll be honest, this is the only sort of Penny/Sheldon I can ever envision happening. :)

Hey, thanks! And, yeah, you and me both wrt the Penny/Sheldon thing. If pushed, I'd say that Sheldon probably thinks that he has at least a couple of hundred years to wait for the rest of humanity to catch up with him and provide him with a suitable mate, and that he's not any too frustrated in the meantime. And he'd probably explain it with copious quotations from Children of the Lens, too.
