Question.

Okay, lovely LJ friends and clients, answer me this.

Hmm?

(also for reference that picture was taken eons again when I was ...fifteen, sixteen, on holiday in england. I believe in portabello road, or however you spell it. Oh god I'm wearing that exact jumper now. I need to buy more clothes....)

Moving on. So I'm having a sliiiiiight crisis. Not really a crisis as I'm not emotionally frazzled or panicked or stressed, but I also have absolutely no bloody idea what I'm going to do with myself. I've had some very bad experiences with tertiary education, and honestly I'm not much keen on any at the moment, I'd much rather go straight into the work force.

Question is, how to do that?

So, I have a couple of options:

1. I finish up all my orders, and get an apprentiship/work for local costume design Elisabeth Whiting
2. Somehow magically my business takes off and I'm able to support myself that way (this doesn't look likely in the short term)
3. I somehow magically get employed overseas (anyone know anything about how fairygothmother selects their designs? Aiming high, perhaps, but still, It can't hurt to try. At the moment I'm thinking of just sending in a big folder of my work and asking them directly.
4. Suck it up, do a basic sewing degree at uni. (this would give me something to do, however there aren't tertiary courses (aside from Stick-It-Where-The-Sun-Don't-Shine) catering to the sort of sewing/desiging that I want to learn/do. Also it would mean incurring incredible amounts of debt purely to keep myself entertained. Interest free debt is still debt, and frankly I'm not comfortable with the $4000 I owe at the moment, and three years of study would be another....$35,000 on top of that. O.o)
5. REALLY suck it up, and get a basic working job while I try and figure out what the hell I'm going to do with my life. I know what I want to do, I just don't know how to GET THERE. It's  very frustrating.
To make this entry slightly more interesting, I'm thinking of making a few more fifties style dresses after I've finished the wedding dress. Poodle skirts for the win! I don't have any scans of my design doodles, but if anyone's interested?

life, confusion, whinging, my so-called education
