I'm so jealous that you get to make sleeveless pretties! We just got at least 10 inches of snow over the past two days, and it is miserably cold. I love the dress, I love the mock-up(and am jealous of your external boning channels, I'm not yet that brave!), and I think that finishing the wedding dress will be fun for you. Have you been feeling better? I hope so!
Ohhh, poor you! I saw a picture (I think it was yours?) on twitter showing the weather. Yikes! I'd be such a wuss if I moved to Chicago - I only lived in D.C 'till I was five and my ability to survive cold didn't survive the move to a semi-tropical climate. :P
External channels are remarkably easy. This is the first time I've tried them properly - couldn't be bothered doing a two-layer mockup (plus cutting channels is super relaxing).
I've been feeling really good lately. Maybe it's a sign - 2010's going to be my year for health!
Once you get back to summer I expect dresses to be made so I can mope about the cold and you can tell me what a whiny cow I'm being cause NZ doesn't get a real winter. Definitely.
I very much doubt I'll ever call you a whiny cow. Chicago winter is pretty brutal. And yeah, it probably was my picture, as I've been whining about how much I hate the snow and wanting to stay snug under my five or so fleece blankets. Summer will definitely bring dresses. I'm thinking '40s and '50s era, swing dance and pin-up girl. Possibly just wishful thinking, though. :)
I'll be trying external channels on my next corset, I think. It's for my birthday next month. Tomorrow, I'll have a month exactly to get it done. I've made them in less time than that, but drafting this one beginning to end merits the extra time, I believe! I bought pre-made casing tape at work, I'll probably have to get more and more of my taffeta to cover the channels, though. Ho hum, more fabric. Darn! ;)
2010 sounds like an excellent year for your health. Every time I talk myself into some Baileys, I toast you. Perhaps it's helping, who knows?
