So, I had a slightly traumatic trip to the hair dressers this weekend. I've been super sick this year, mono, flu, food poisoning twice, possibly three times, multiple nasty colds, and I just got over my latest bout of summer flu a couple of days ago. All in all it kind of did a number on my hair. I had to get four inches cut off, and apparently ( Read more... )

You can definitely pull off the strawberry blonde, but I'd talk to your stylist instead of doing it yourself at home, especially if you've never dyed your hair. Long layers could also look quite nice on you, I think, and you could leave a lot of your (very enviable) length.

I think I prefer the first option of the lighter red. Just enough of a change to make you happy, but not so much that you'll wake up the next morning screaming 'Oh dear gods what did I do?!' I'm afraid I have no tips on how to achieve volume, as my hair quite likes to fluff out when I let it stay curly.

Oh, yes definitely not doing it at home. My last experience with home hair colouring was a fire-engine red wash out mousse. It didn't wash out. My hair was pink for about a month and a half....yeah.

I think I'll get a semi-permanent, and then if I like it get it done permanently and think about layers, my hair curled slightly last time I had them, which would be interesting.

Cheers luvvie!

I think if you're not 100% sure, you should try doing lowlights of the second color rather than doing all one color. That way, you don't lose your natural color (which is lovely btw) but it's still something new. Hope this all works out!

That's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that.

The problem is I really like my hair on it's good days - I like having golden blonde, long hair, but I've had golden blonde long blunt cut hair since pretty much day one, and it gets a little tedious. Gah. My dad thinks it'd look nice, so that's something, I suppose?

I'll post pictures once I figure out what I'm doing.

Double thank you! :)

I'd go with lowlights if anything.
