Written on plain but fine paper in a flowery script. The wax bears the seal of the House of Flora:

Dearest Bianca,
Manley has arrived. He tells me he has finished the sculpture of Grandfather. Be a lamb and tell me of it. Though, I shall be able to gaze upon its wonder myself soon enough. Some disturbing news from our Royal Physician (I mentioned her in my last letter - lovely woman) brought back has prompted a change in schedule. I cannot go into details but I suspect you already know what I am talking about.
Adrianna has also come to Amber. She says she is here to learn more of her mother's side of the family. I'm sure there is some truth to that but things are never so simple where she is involved. Runs in the family, I suppose.
I was terribly sorry to hear about Giancarlo. Are you sure he's not even a little bit straight?
Once I return and take care of a few administrative matters, I shall plant myself firmly in your villa and become quite drunk as we solve the world's problems.
Love,
Rosamunde
