no its not. it is highly overrated and really doesnt deserve its nominations. the acting is crap, michelle williams is the only strong person in it. wow two straight guys have to pretend to be in love iwth each other-omg how oscar worthy! u cant understand what heath ledger is saying half the time bacuse he is so bad at doing accents. the film trawls on and gets repetitive. the ending is so predictable and should have come sooner. the setting may well be amazing bt seriously u dont get to see much of it. the most impressive part of the film those is all them sheep!

Stop trying to be a cleverly critical media/drama student, your just contradicting everything everyone else says about it and although it may be your opinion, I don't agree with it and neither does anyone else iv spoken to, or America judging by the nominations, which I think are extremely well deserved. 'pretending to be in love' is what happens in a lot of films, the fact that its 'two straight guys' makes not a lot of difference, apart from the fact it hasn't been done before, something else to respect them for. Humph.

Jesus Christ people! calm down calm down. All Rosie said is she recommends the film. everyone get over yourselves, you are all so gay and we all know everyone loves a bit of bum fun every now and again. America IS the western world. I will defend Jake 'Fitennhaal forever and his naked self. yum. My personal opinion was the acting was pretty good and very convincing. I was also very impressed with the amount of sheep. And I'm sure there are other 'gay' films out there, none which I can think of and none that have been targeted at such a mainstream and worldwide audience featuring hollywood megastars. I would be interested if anyone knew of any other films that look at homosexuality in such depth. Bumback mountain. Yes very clever as they have bum sex on brokeback, broke at least begins with the same letter as bum. brilliant. SARAH'S FINAL WORDS... Brokeback was a brilliant film, looking at a controversial issue within the modern world. Many people can connect to the film and it certainly generated major interest (positive or not). ( ... )

Why do you all have to have a controversial opinion on everything.
Are you just so bored that you always have to argue against something or you dont feel satisfied?

Cunt is an English slang word that refers to the human female genitals. It is considered by some to be amongst the most offensive words in the English language. In modern English, the word vagina is considered to be much more polite, though strictly speaking this Latin word refers only to the internal female genitalia, unlike vulva. Some consider Vagina offensive as it is literally "a sheath for a sword", the sword being the penis. The earliest citation of the word in the Oxford English Dictionary is a reference to the London street name "Gropecunt Lane" dated to about 1230.
