I assume the Cookies and Cream ice cream behind you in the last is (in English) magic? Because if so, it looks WAY more magic in German.

And sweet jeebus that's a scary icon. Scary enough for me to continue to look at it for minutes on end. I'm starting to wonder if I now have epilepsy...

It's an advertising campaign playing on the 'a' with an umlaut in the name Häagen-Dazs, so it's just a pun on the English word 'magic'. They also have one for their passionfruit icecream that says 'Päassion'. It's very common for the slogan on ads here to be in English, and the rest of the text in German. So many people speak English, and even those who don't tend to recognise key phrases, plus it makes things sound more 'cutting edge' and young and hip etc if it's in English, as English is spoken more by the younger generation of Germans.

Sorry, that was incredibly boring! I like little cultural details like that, though :)

Re icon: it's my new favourite icon! I'm a House tragic. I get like a junkie without a fix every week when a new episode comes out in the US and I have to wait a day for torrents of it to go up! Funny cos I normally don't watch television much at all. I just bloody love that show.

Oh, my favourite cheese is brie. Closely followed by baby bocconcini. And then port wine cheddar from the Margaret River Cheese Factory. MMmmmmmm, cheese.

You get this icon because it has a reference to John Barrowman in it! But probably only makes sense if you've seen Never Mind the Buzzcocks :) It's the British show that Spicks and Specks pinched their format/concept from, and (let me preface this with an apology as I know you love Spicks and Specks!) it's about TEN THOUSAND TIMES funnier!!

Here, watch the Barrowman episode on Youtube! Some of the jokes are a bit Brit-centric, but it's still good :D

Rosie your icon made my eyes tired - it's horrible! (I presume that was your intention-to make it horrible I mean)
But I love your photos. Mama says do not drink the whole bottle at once. Your head will ache. And avoid standing on cycle paths in Germany. You will get into big German trouble. I most like your map photo. I can read your body language perfectly. xxx loves
