On the same road (Marylebone High Street, accursed place) in the space of a few hundred yards an innocent traveller might come across The White Company, Cath Kidston, Daunt Books, Monsoon, Brora and other such delightful boutiques.

I am not innocent. I also have no self control. See.

I didn't pick anything up, as I couldn't remember whether I already had a copy of The Praise Singer (I'm having a Mary Renault reread) but it is a really good shop. I think it's even better than Strutton Ground! I'll have to pop back in a week or so.

I took my innocent, down-from-the country sister-in-law there a few years ago, whereupon she went mad in Cath Kidston and VV Rouleaux while I was in Oxfam, and, I suspect, still blames me.

Heheheheh. These things will happen! I very forcefully took myself out of Cath Kidston as I was running late to get to the tube, but it was a close run thing.

Heh. I hope you were pleased with your haul, anyway! :-) It's a great stretch of road, isn't it? wonderlanded introduced me to it a couple of years ago. I especially love Daunt Books. Mmm.

Oh yes. Karmic balance was achieved by buying a dress from the charity shop as well. Mmmmm, black silk! Any road that combines books and cashmere is up there in my estimation. I don't know why I hadn't visited for ages. Oh, no, wait, I do - I have no self control!
