I feel that it's important to note (or at least, it's an enjoyable distraction to note) that people apparently have very strong feelings about crosswalks. When I visit a new city, I like to watch what the inhabitants do at crosswalks. Of course, New Yorkers will cut off speeding taxis. San Franciscans often wait even if there are no cars, but will generally follow someone who starts crossing. In Tokyo, I was waiting one time at an intersection where a really tiny street had a light with a pretty sizable street. The tiny street had a green light but no cars, and a large crowd of people was waiting to cross it. Then one person crossed in each direction, and the crowd _didn't_ follow. That's the most respect for silly rules I've ever seen in a city.

Also, Hi Dara! :)

Hi Jeff!! How are you? Have you taken over the world yet?

And it's true, I do think it's city-dependent. No one says a word in DC proper; all these incidents have been in VA.

If the walk is truly that cross, then why put it in a worse mood? True, that is its cross to bare, but one rarely comes across that. Cross this off your list altogether, and have some hot cross buns in the Land 'O Blarney. Um, ok, that's it.
