I was at the ex-durga band practice today. They're calling themselves the deathrock kids now, for some reason. I think it's a stupid name - I hope you all read that. I've been helping with some of the writing on bass and I hope to do their production when they decide to record, but I felt like a total third wheel today - super out of place. ( Read more... )

I'm with you on the band name. I think Durga was a ten times better name than Deathrock Kids. Durga was unique, and Deathrock Kids is kinda lame.

eh, it may be a stupid name, but durga just didn't fit the band, in my opinion. it totally sounds like some death metal band's name. all dark and metal-like. and as far as originality goes-bob-i'm sure whatever religion durga belongs to wouldn't mind us using it... i don't really like the new "name" either, but until something better shows up, that'll have to do. and castle romeo was a little iffy too...it's all good.

When I said that I thought Durga was original, I didn't mean that I had thought you came up with it off the top of your heads. I meant that it doesn't sound like anything else out there, which is kinda like your band.

But when it comes down to it, it's more important that you guys like the band name. I hope you guys can come up with something you all love.

I didn't mean that personally. You were just one more person there in that small, hot, crowded room. For one, you HAD an instrument. And I am helping the band write. I know I'm not IN the band but I am directly assisting them. I'm sorry if you found my comment offensive.

And Dick, if you don't want me to come to your practices any more, that's fine. Just tell me. I'm only trying to help. There is clearly an idealogical conflict between us as far as music is concerned. All I know is that I think you're all good and are a good as a band but that there are places where you could be even better. I don't want to be IN your band, but I did want help. At the very least, lets be mature. None of this anonymous posting shit.
